The Conscious Kinky Partner Weekend Intensive

A weekend intensive for people who want to explore kink without guessing, performing or pushing past their own safety

The Sanctuary of East Harlem
September 4 - 6,  2026 7PM - 7PM

\BUILD THE POWER EXCHANGE YOU ACTUALLY WANT

A live, hands-on weekend for exploring Dominance, submission, trust, communication, and connection with greater confidence and clarity

The Conscious Kinky Partner Weekend Intensive
September 4–6, 2026
Studio125, New York City

You may know what draws you to power exchange.

The intensity. The trust. The freedom to lead. The freedom to let go. The possibility of being fully seen and met by another person.

Knowing what you want, however, is not the same as knowing how to create it.

How do you communicate what you want without freezing or second-guessing yourself?

How do you know whether someone is genuinely trustworthy or simply confident?

How do you lead without becoming controlling?

How do you surrender without disappearing?

How do you move from fantasy and chemistry into a dynamic grounded in consent, responsibility, connection, and care?

That is what this weekend is designed to help you explore.

MOVE BEYOND GUESSWORK

Most people are not given a clear, healthy model for building power-exchange relationships.

They may know the language of Dominance and submission. They may have read books, listened to podcasts, attended events, or explored with a partner.

And yet, when it comes to actually creating the dynamic they want, they still feel uncertain.

Perhaps you:

You are not behind.

You do not need to arrive with all the answers.

You need a place where you can learn, practice, ask questions, receive support, and discover what healthy power exchange looks and feels like for you.

THIS IS ABOUT MORE THAN KINK SKILLS

A title alone does not make someone a healthy Dominant.

Surrender alone does not make someone a healthy submissive.

Chemistry alone does not create trust.

The relationships and dynamics we truly want require more.

They require self-awareness. Clear communication. Discernment. Responsibility. The ability to name what we desire and protect what matters to us.

They require the capacity to remain connected to ourselves while building something meaningful with another person.

During this Intensive, kink becomes the place where we practice those capacities deliberately, honestly, and with support.

You will not simply learn what to do.

You will begin to understand how you want to show up.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND PRACTICE

Communicate with greater clarity

Practice naming what you want, what you need, what you are curious about, and what is not right for you.

Learn language you can use before, during, and after a scene or intimate experience.

Explore how to speak clearly even when you feel nervous, uncertain, or emotionally activated.

Recognize healthier partners and dynamics

Learn to distinguish confidence from character, chemistry from compatibility, and intensity from genuine trust.

Identify behaviors that build safety and connection, as well as behaviors that deserve greater attention or caution.

Become more discerning about who receives access to your vulnerability, your body, and your trust.

Explore conscious Dominance

Practice leading with intention, presence, responsibility, and care.

Discover a form of Dominance that does not depend upon intimidation, performance, or control.

Begin developing an approach to leadership that feels grounded in who you are rather than in a role you believe you must play.

Explore conscious submission

Practice surrendering while remaining connected to your voice, your limits, and your capacity to choose.

Explore the difference between letting go and giving yourself away.

Discover how submission can become an expression of strength, self-knowledge, trust, and intention.

Build stronger conditions for trust and consent

Learn how meaningful negotiation creates greater freedom rather than limiting it.

Practice establishing boundaries, expectations, agreements, and ways to pause or stop.

Experience how intention, communication, energy, and connection can transform a scene or dynamic.

Bring the learning into your relationships

The tools you practice during the weekend are not limited to kink.

They can help you become a clearer communicator, a more discerning partner, a more responsible leader, and a person who is better able to give, receive, ask, choose, and connect.

YOU WILL LEARN BY DOING

This is not a weekend of sitting through lectures or collecting more information.

You will learn through:

Every exercise is designed to help you move from intellectual understanding into lived experience.

You will have opportunities to notice:

The goal is not to perform someone else’s version of Dominance or submission.

The goal is to discover what healthy, conscious power exchange looks and feels like when it is rooted in who you actually are.

THE JOURNEY OF THE WEEKEND

Friday Evening: Arrive and Create the Container

We begin by slowing down, connecting, and establishing the agreements that will guide the weekend.

You will explore your intentions, your questions, your boundaries, and what you hope to understand more clearly.

Together, we create a learning environment grounded in choice, confidentiality, consent, respect, and care.

Saturday: Learn, Explore, and Practice

Saturday is the heart of the Intensive.

Through demonstrations, discussion, guided exercises, and partnered practice, you will explore the foundations of conscious power exchange.

You will work with communication, negotiation, trust, discernment, leadership, surrender, intention, energy, and connection.

Rather than simply talking about these ideas, you will have opportunities to experience and practice them.

Sunday: Integrate and Carry It Forward

On Sunday, the pieces begin to come together.

You will deepen your practice, reflect upon what you have discovered, and identify what you want to carry into your relationships and future experiences.

You will leave with clearer language, practical tools, stronger self-awareness, and a more grounded understanding of the kind of partner and dynamic you want to create.

PEOPLE BEFORE KINK

At Kink Collective, we believe the people involved always matter more than the roles they play.

That means:

Relationship before role

Character before title

Connection before technique

Trust before surrender

Your humanity does not disappear when you enter a power-exchange dynamic.

Your voice still matters.

Your boundaries still matter.

Your nervous system still matters.

Your ability to choose still matters.

Surrender should never require you to disappear.

Leadership should never require you to become someone you are not.

The most powerful dynamics are not built by abandoning ourselves. They are built by bringing more of ourselves into the relationship with honesty, awareness, responsibility, and care.

THE TRANSFORMATION THROUGH KINK METHOD

The Intensive is taught through Kink Collective’s Transformation Through Kink Method.

The method uses the structure, communication, negotiation, and intention that healthy kink already requires as a way to develop four essential capacities.

Self-Awareness

Understand your desires, fears, patterns, boundaries, values, and choices more clearly.

Communication

Learn to express what you want and need with greater confidence, honesty, and precision.

Discernment

Recognize the people, behaviors, and dynamics that are aligned with your wellbeing and those that are not.

Embodied Practice

Move beyond theory by practicing in a supported environment where you can notice, experiment, reflect, and receive feedback.

Kink is the modality.

Becoming a more conscious, capable, connected partner is the transformation.

WHO THIS WEEKEND IS FOR

The Conscious Kinky Partner Intensive may be right for you if:

You may attend alone or with a partner.

You do not need prior experience.

You do not need to use a particular label.

You do not need to prove that you belong.

You need only curiosity, a willingness to participate at your own pace, and a desire to explore more consciously.

YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE CHOICE

Nothing about this weekend is designed to push you past yourself.

You will not be required to participate in every exercise.

You may pause, observe, ask questions, decline, or modify your participation.

Consent is not treated as a formality. It is part of the practice.

The purpose is not to pressure you into an experience.

The purpose is to help you understand yourself well enough to make clearer, more grounded choices.

WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS HAVE SAID

“This weekend changed everything for me. I went from nervous to confident in 48 hours.”

“I’m always worried that I’m going to do something so wrong in some of these topics so I stayed away from them but the setting that is provided lets me explore safely and become more confident.”

“The connections with others and especially the connection with myself that is fostered here is unlike anything I’ve had the chance to experience.”

“The world of kink was demystified, and the potential it has to heal our deepest psychic wounds was revealed. In the process, I feel as though I’ve found a new and supportive community for my life’s journey as well. I’m simply not the same person coming out as I was going in.”

MEET YOUR FACILITATORS

Cat Orme and Joshua Rodriguez

Cat and Joshua are the co-founders of Kink Collective and the creators of the People Before Kink philosophy.

Together, they bring more than 30 years of shared relationship experience to their work as power-exchange and intimacy educators, facilitators, and community builders.

Their teaching is grounded in a simple conviction: healthy kink begins with healthy people.

Their work goes beyond technique to explore the communication, character, self-awareness, responsibility, and emotional capacity required to create meaningful relationships and sustainable power-exchange dynamics.

They have taught on stages, podcasts, workshops, and within community settings, helping people approach kink with greater confidence, clarity, safety, and intention.

Participants often describe the spaces they create as welcoming, honest, challenging, supportive, and deeply human.

Cat and Joshua will not tell you who you are supposed to become.

They will help you develop the awareness, skills, and confidence to discover that for yourself.
