We are all at different points on our journey. Newcomers, veterans, couples, spiritual seekers, and subs & Doms. This weekend was created to meet you where you are. Our interactions with others give our lives meaning. The sense of well-being we get from truly connecting with another is proof of that. But while we yearn for deeper connections, we don’t know how to create them. This is most painfully evident in kink settings, where we are often our most vulnerable, and yet our interactions end up being superficial and transactional.

**PBK** – A Weekend Intensive is designed to:
Immerse you in the philosophy of People Before Kink, which allows you to find and express your true self, and create space for others to do the same.
Expose you to a multitude of concepts, kinks, perspectives and practices geared towards furthering your kink journey
Allow you to Hone skills that will bring all your connections to their full potential.
Put you on the path that will add meaning and direction to your kink journey, as well as all areas of your life.
Allow you to put into action what you are learning, in a supportive environment of classes, workshops and evening events.
Under the careful watch of a team of facilitators, this is a framework for making and maintaining deep, meaningful connections, through the multi-faceted lens of the BDSM lifestyle. What you will learn about works with people you are just meeting as well as the relationships you already have.

Our process revolves around 5 key points. We use the acronym ICAVS to make it easy to remember:

**Introspection** – This is an opportunity to dive deeper into yourself. This process cuts right into the middle of who you are and gives you knowledge and perspective of your life’s journey up until this point. Introspection at this level empowers you, through a unique process of self-awareness. Before the workshop, you will receive a package that walks you through a path of Introspection. It helps you find specific and valuable information about yourself. It also provides you with words to articulate your thoughts and feelings, something we are generally not taught. Self-knowledge is the foundation of our program.

**Container** – Containers create safe space to be with yourself and others. In this way, you experience seeing and being seen, hearing and being heard. We will show you how to do this. It will serve you now and for your whole life’s journey.

**Actualization** – As you dive deeper into who you really are, you will find you have permission to remove all the obstacles that hold you back. This process gives you the space to discover and become your true, authentic self.

**Vulnerability** – Deeply meaningful connections require vulnerability. The magic of this intensive comes from the participants themselves. When people feel safe, they can be who they are and share themselves with another in a new way. We provide you the opportunity to experience this level of vulnerability.

**Safety** – We provide you a safe and educational environment in which to have this immersive experience. In this judgment-free space, you will see how to create safety for yourself and others moving forward.

This program has everything you need to get you to the root of your identity, as you are today. And it all happens in an environment of vulnerability, safety and trust. The entire process is free of judgment and agenda. This allows you to leave the workshop with valuable skills you will have practiced, freeing you to integrate them in all areas of your life.

Mark K – “I have been practicing sounding for over 15 years. My first time instructing others occurred many years ago at Easton Mountain during what used to be called Kinky Camp. There was a wish board where participants could write what they would like to experience and someone listed sounding. Since I had my sounds with me, I arranged a time to show him how to do it. Word got out about the demonstration, so what started as just myself and him, turned into an exhibition with about 10 other guys watching. Since then I have facilitated full workshops during Kink Odyssey weekends. My goal is to provide a safe yet pleasurable experience for each individual while learning proper techniques. I’m thrilled to be attending Kink Odyssey this Spring, and I look forward to sharing my expertise with others who are interested in sounding.

“This workshop is exactly what I needed at the moment that I needed it. Dating in general has always felt as if it’s full of invisible landmines and potholes, and while I’ve known for almost a year that I really need the clarity of kink, I’ve had very little idea how to start in a way that feels safe and sane. The facilitators were warm, knowledgeable, and comfortable in their own vulnerabilities, and the result was a workshop in which I got to practice having conversations that I’ve never been able to have, feeling self and held as I did so.”

“This workshop was more than just about talking to other people, it was about making connections for the benefit of building a safer, more supportive community. It gave me real concrete ways that I could “Be the change I want to see” in my local play spaces. Being “new” in the lifestyle now for about 7 months or so, I didn’t really think about what connection is. I thought there is friendship, and romantic relationships. Knowing what I know through my journey, and this workshop, I can now say connection is a wide range. You can have an intimate connection with someone, who you aren’t romantically linked with. You can have intimacy, without intent to have sex, or sexual relations. Craving intimacy the way I do, It was so amazing to make new connections today, and to have tools I can use for future connections I make.”

“I wish this had been available and able to attend before going to my first events. An in depth review of some basic safety and care tenants in BDSM. With the removal of any play aspects, demonstrations or education, I was able to concentrate purely on the person I was with and their motivations, emotions and experiences they were bringing to this environment. Removing the roles, and leaving the human being. It created a safe environment for people to reveal a personal part of themselves they might not have had experience talking about before.”

“I believe the idea of “People Before Kink” should be built into the foundation of BDSM. I loved being part of this discussion and I look forward to seeing new practices form around it.”

“I went into this intensive not entirely sure what to expect, and left feeling more confident in myself and my communication skills, both for kink and non-kink settings. I loved the interplay of learning skills and information and getting to practice building connections while simultaneously practicing introspection. This intensive harnessed the powerful force of communication to build connection, skills, and self awareness necessary for navigating healthy kink, and healthy relationships in general. I feel like people of all skill levels could benefit from it.”

“I had a great experience. What I value the most about it were the points of self introspection that had me realize a few things about myself and also being in a space with others who share very similar values and philosophies. I also very much appreciated the sharing of personal experiences with kink and communication from the hosts and some guests.”

“The intensive was very informative and revealing. Not only for myself but also how I interact with others. A lot of introspective work, and a comfortable and refreshing atmosphere to engage in. A great set of tools to help get in touch with, communicate and express parts of myself.”
